F&B Manager at Prestwick Country Club

Established in 1964, Prestwick Country Club strives to be the finest full-service, family-oriented, and private golf and country club in the Chicagoland area. The Club offers its members and their guests one of the finest exclusive golfing, dining, and entertainment environments in the southwestern suburbs. F&B Supervisor

The Food & Beverage Supervisor at Prestwick Country Club is responsible for managing all daily food and beverage services. The F&B Supervisor works closely with the General Manager/COO (GM) and Food and Beverage Director to ensure member satisfaction, is responsible for the operation of all food and beverage aspects of the club, and performs specific tasks as requested by the GM. As a “team player” of the Club, the F&B Supervisor must be flexible to perform a variety of roles in many capacities as requested by the GM that may be necessary for the smooth operation of Prestwick Country Club.

The F&B Supervisor, as a strong “front-facing and highly visible presence with the membership”, must be an exceptional communicator, have excellent personal interactive skills, and have the maturity to know how to make members and guests feel that they are consistently being taken care of.

Furthermore, he/she must be able to communicate these expectations to a diverse staff and positively motivate them to understand and execute to those expectations. The F&B Supervisor must also have the skills and diplomacy to enforce club policies such as dress code and the like, knowing that support from the GM and Board is in place to do so.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sincere and significant engagement of members, guests, and staff; listening to their expectations, concerns, and suggestions; observing, assessing, and evaluating all areas of responsibility; and working closely with the GM and Food and Beverage Director to implement appropriate and incremental improvements.
  • Assisting daily in all aspects of the food and beverage operation.
  • Employee hiring, training, and development; plans and coordinates training and development programs, looking to ensure that the end-to-end experience is at a consistently high level; manage the long-range staffing needs of the department.
  • Assist in continuing a culture where all staff is committed to consistently “Wowing the members.”
  • The F&B Supervisor is ultimately responsible to ensure that all member and club events are well-conceived and executed. Important life events of members are frequently celebrated at the Club, and the F&B Supervisor will have a critical role in making the parties a success, thereby increasing member satisfaction.
  • Act as the ambassador of the club for prospective members and assist with the onboarding of all new members.
  • Is the staff liaison for the following committees: Membership Committee, Events Committee; and attends committee meetings, coordinating and supporting related activities and events.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors budget goals to achieve them.
  • Directs corrective action procedures as necessary.
  • Responds to member/guest complaints and addresses their concerns.
  • Monitors safety conditions and employee’s conformance with safety procedures.
  • Holds and attends staff meetings.
  • Prepares clear and concise reports and maintains effective employee/employer relations.
  • Assists in personnel management for each employee’s yearly performance evaluations, responsible for employee safety, personnel discipline, and the daily work schedule.
  • Assists the GM/COO and Food & Beverage Director as directed in all areas of the Clubhouse operations

ADDITIONAL CORE COMPETENCIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • The prospective candidate must be a charismatic professional who truly enjoys the hospitality/club environment.
  • Candidates must possess 5 years of experience as a food and beverage supervisor.
  • “High Service” implies a club with a staff that is responsive to the expressed and unexpressed wishes and needs of club members and their guests.
  • A person who leads by example with a genuine passion for excellence and attention to detail.
  • The ideal candidate will be a person who inspires other managers and staff to provide exceptional service to members and who encourages team building, employee motivation, and service training.
  • Must demonstrate appropriate analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Functions as an administrative link between departments.
  • Approves all entertainment in consultation with others.
  • Advises General Manager about the development and revision of club by-laws and policies; consistently enforces all policies.
